Thrum Mittens Workshop
Thrum Mittens Workshop
Wednesday December 4th at 10am
What are thrum mittens?
Thrum mittens are produced in a similar fashion as conventional mittens, but with the ends of small pieces of raw wool or "thrums" knit into the design. A small bit of each of the wool thrums are visible on the outside of the mitten and appear as tiny "hearts".
Do you want to make a pair of your own? Join us for this workshop as you learn the fun and addictive technique to make your own thrums and begin working on your first thrummed mitt.
The price of the workshop includes the cost of the yarn and raw wool to make up the mitten kits. Many colours to choose from. Pattern for mittens will be provided.
You will need size 3.50mm and 4.00mm double pointed knitting needles. Don’t have these sizes? Never fear, we will have double pointed knitting needles available to purchase.
Note: If you wish to pick out your mitten kit prior to the class so that you can begin on the cuff, drop into the studio to choose your colour combinations.
Please bring with you size 6.0mm 16" circular knitting needle.
