Doodles: Design & Knit Custom Colourwork with Mix-and-Match Motifs

Doodles by Pacific Knit Co. are modern and whimsical colorwork motifs that enable knitters to design and knit exactly what they want!

The Doodle Framework has 4 simple steps:

1) Pick your Pattern Shape,

2) Pick your Doodle Motifs,

3) Pick your Yarn Colors and

4) Start Knitting!

Class Description: During this session, we’ll deep dive into each step and learn how to choose and modify your base pattern, how to create your Master Project Chart using Doodle motifs, and how to build cohesive yarn palettes that work for colorwork. Afterwards, you’ll have the confidence to create your own unique colorwork projects, which gives you endless customization with just one pattern!

Skills Needed:

Experience with basic colorwork knitting

Skills Covered:

·         Introduction to choosing and modifying Base Doodle Patterns

·         How to choose, arrange, and build your Doodle colorwork Charts

·         How to create a cohesive and contrasting color palette for colorwork knitting Basic stranded colorwork techniques (in the round)

Materials provided:

·         Tons of Doodle Samples for inspiration

·         Free Doodle Workbook (download prior to class)

·         Free Base Doodle Pattern

·         Free Basic Doodle Charts Coupon for (1) Free Doodle Download on Ravelry to bring to class

Materials Needed (optional)

·         Doodle Charts/Cards of a specific theme you want to use

·         DK weight yarn in 2-6 colors for your design (to review in class during color section)
