Mosaic Knitting Workshop

Do you love The Shift pattern by Andrea Mowry but think it is too hard to try?  Once you understand Mosaic knitting it won’t be too hard, it will be a breeze!

What is Mosaic Knitting?  Mosaic knitting is a colourwork technique where you use two colours independently.  The method is very simple and allows the maker to create intricate patterns without having to carry multiple strands of yarn per row.  You follow a chart and work with one colour at a time.
In this workshop you will learn how to read Mosaic charts while working in stockinette stitch.  Working the mosaic charts in the round will also be discussed.  We will work on a beautiful horizontal repeat that is ideal for adding a touch of charm to any project and when complete can be used as a dishcloth or trivet.

You will need:
-    Two 70-gram balls of contrasting coloured worsted weight cotton yarn such as Sugar ‘n Cream by Lily
-    4.00 or 4.50mm knitting needles, or corresponding knitting needles sized to obtain gauge listed on the ball band of the yarn
-    Basic experience in knitting & purling stitches, slip stitch, and basic knowledge of colourwork
